Enrol a Windows 11 Pro PC
How to enrol a Windows 11 Pro PC in Vamiq: issue a one-time code, open the enrolment link or Access work or school on the PC, then manage it.

Each Windows 11 Pro PC enrols with a one-time code made for the person who uses it. You issue the code in Vamiq, and on the PC Windows asks for it as the password. No extra Microsoft licence is needed to enrol a PC.
Before you start
- A PC running Windows 11 Pro.
- An administrator account on the PC that is not the built-in Administrator.
- The e-mail address of the person who uses the PC: the code is made for it.
Issue a one-time code
Open Add device
In Devices, select Add device and choose Windows PC. If Devices is not in the sidebar yet, choose Set up device management first.
Say who uses the PC
Type their address under Employee email, and their name if you like, then select Issue enrolment code.
Copy the code and the link
Copy the one-time code and the enrolment link, and give them to that person by a route you trust. The code is shown only now and works once, within 24 hours.
Enrol the PC
Sign in
On the PC, sign in with an administrator account (not the built-in Administrator).
Open the enrolment link
Open the enrolment link in Microsoft Edge. It opens Enroll only in device management with the e-mail address and server filled in.
Or use Settings
Without the link, open Settings > Accounts > Access work or school, select Enroll only in device management, type the e-mail address the code was made for and select Next. If Windows asks for a server address, type the one shown with the code.
Type the code
When Windows asks for a password, type the one-time code. Capitals and dashes do not matter.
Find the PC in Devices
When enrolment finishes, the PC shows in Devices with your other devices.
After enrolment
Open the PC in Devices to see its model, serial number, Windows version and last check-in, its Windows Update status, free disk space and BIOS version, and the software installed on it.
Under Settings, set screen lock, Windows Update active hours and Microsoft Defender real-time protection. The PC picks up a change when it next checks in.
To give several PCs the same settings, open Windows settings in Devices and use Windows groups: create a group, choose its settings and add PCs to it.
Questions
- How long does a code work?
- Once, within 24 hours. Revoke a code you no longer need in Enrolment, under Windows PCs, and issue another.
- Can I issue a code from Enrolment instead?
- Yes. In Enrolment, go to Windows PCs and use Issue enrolment codes. It makes the same code and link.
- Does the PC need another Microsoft licence?
- No extra Microsoft licence is needed to enrol a PC.
