Why choose Vamiq

How Vamiq compares with Jamf, SimpleMDM, Applivery, Appaloosa and Apple Business built-in management for private apps on Apple devices.

What Apple Business leaves to you

Apple Business, which replaced Apple Business Manager in April 2026, is a substantial device-management foundation. Apple's public guidance says a device must be enrolled before administrators can view critical facts, send apps or settings, or push commands.

Apple exposes installation states such as Install Pending, Installed and Install Failed. Vamiq adds a deterministic diagnosis and next action by correlating the wider evidence around a deployment rather than presenting the state alone.

Apple also says every Custom App version goes through App Review, typically taking one to two days, and an approved app cannot switch between public and private distribution without a new app record. Vamiq brings the supported Apple delivery routes into one release workspace; it does not claim to remove Apple's review or approval requirements.

Apple's public built-in-management guidance describes app assignment, installation and status tracking. It does not describe an Vamiq-equivalent combination of artefact preflight, deterministic risk forecasting and checksummed release evidence packs.

Organisation verification remains an Apple prerequisite for managed delivery. Apple currently requires two verification methods, allows 60 days to complete approval and says verification can take up to five working days or longer during high volume.

Common platform capabilities and what Vamiq adds

Established Apple-management and app-distribution platforms commonly provide managed app assignment, device inventory, installation status, activity reporting and targeting by users, devices or groups.

Vamiq adds a release-assurance layer around those operations: managed delivery and a branded portal in one workspace, deterministic failure diagnosis, release-specific risk forecasting, artefact preflight and checksummed evidence packs.

  • App delivery: managed installation on enrolled company iPhones and iPads, plus a branded portal that lists approved apps.
  • Deployment visibility: a reproducible cause and next action rather than status alone.
  • Targeting and release checks: risk visibility before each release.
  • Artefact validation: identity, version, provisioning, compatibility, privacy metadata and integrity checks before installation.
  • Audit records: release identity, targeting, outcomes, exceptions and audit evidence assembled into a checksummed export.

How these comparisons are maintained

The detailed pages compare named products and bounded use cases. Claims on the hub are grounded in shipped Vamiq controls, and the competitor descriptions on the hub were checked against each vendor's own website on 1 October 2026. No other vendor's prices are quoted.

  • Product scope is compared before individual features.
  • Vamiq's own prices are published on its pricing page; no other vendor's prices are quoted.
  • App distribution and full device management are treated as different operating models.
  • Official vendor pages are used to check current product positioning.
